Bridport residents raise £334.19 for Macmillan

A Bridport sheltered scheme supported Macmillan's 'World's Biggest Coffee Morning' by organising a coffee & cake morning last Friday.

Magna residents from Flaxhayes sheltered scheme opened up their facilities to the local community to host a coffee and cake morning, raising £334.19 for Macmillan.
There was a delicious array of cakes including, chocolate, carrot cake and cupcakes. The residents also organised a raffle and auction with all the prizes donated by the residents or local companies.
'The World's Biggest Coffee Morning' is Macmillan Cancer Support's biggest fundraising event, raising a record £15 million last year.
92 year old, Mrs Gale, commented, 'We really wanted to support Macmillan, it's a charity close to mine and a lot of my fellow residents hearts. Many of the residents have donated items or have been busy baking so to see their efforts rewarded by raising over £300 is fantastic.'
