A CAMPAIGNER fighting to halt the new council offices under construction in Dorchester says he is dismayed by the size of the building.

John Grantham, leader of the pressure group Winning on Offices/Library, said the building looks bigger on its Charles Street site than it appeared in an artist's impressions for West Dorset District Council.
The building will house new offices for the district council and a new library and adult education centre for Dorset County Council.
Mr Grantham described the building as out of proportion in terms of height and its relation to nearby buildings.
But council leader Robert Gould said in a reply to public questions at the full council meeting earlier this month that the building would fit in well when completed.
He said officers had checked and the development does not break the skyline.
Comments
I agree the height is well above the impression that was given. Not that anyone agreed to the plans in the first place!
