Dorchester's Top 7 places to procure that perfect Christmas Tree

I can wait no longer - it is time to start decorating the house to get in the Christmas spirit.  Around Dorchester there are no shortage of places to buy that perfect tree.  Here are our top 7 places to procure a Christmas tree in and around Dorchester.

For in-town Christmas trees try Trinity Street Trees. They are the complete Christmas centre for cut and rooted trees, tree stands, Christmas lighting, noble fir, holly wreaths and other festive products.  This year a portion of each sale will go to Weldmar Hospice Trust.

St Catherines Farm Christmas Trees -  One of the best places around Dorchester to get 'You choose and We cut' Christmas trees.  They also stock: Precut Christmas trees, Living Christmas trees (to plant later), Christmas wreaths, Christmas boughs, garlands and mistletoe. For those nearer Bridport I would recommend Groves Nurseries.  They don't arrive at the shop until early December, this is to maintain their freshness as long as possible throughout the festive period. They stock tree stands, Nordman Fir and Norway Spruce and delivery within 25 miles for only £1.

Goulds have set up Christmas tree forest in the car park behind the store and are selling wreaths, Nordman Firs and the more christmassy smelling Norway Spruce.

Bailey Ridge Christmas Trees are another supplier of that allow you to choose the tree you like and they cut it there and then. They also sell precut Christmas trees, living Christmas trees (to plant later), Christmas wreaths, garlands, mistletoe and Christmas decorations.  Established in 1999 they have a 4 acre plantation nestled in the woods on Bailey Ridge, near Sherborne. "The Best Tree is a Fresh Tree" is their motto so you can wander the plantation and select your tree. They also have a large range of pot grown trees for you to plant after Christmas and ready cut trees of all sizes. Outside Broadmayne you will find Nordale Pet and Farm Supplies.  They stock Nordman Fir and Norwary Spruce trees, along with mistletoe and holly wreaths.

Trees for rent - This is a perfect place to be a green as can be by renting a Christmas tree. You can have a live tree delivered right to your front door.  All you have to do is tell them which tree you like and then they will do the rest, by delivering it right to your door and then after Christmas, we will come and pick it back up. You can even ask for the same tree next year if you are particularly enamoured with it.
