HIGH Street hero Claire Robertson is setting up her own retail consultancy business three years after re-opening Dorchester's former Woolworths store.
Her new venture, RRP-UK - Realising Retail Potential - will enable her to help aspiring retailers achieve their business ambitions.
Claire became the focus of national and international attention in 2009 in the wake of the collapse of the Woolworths chain.
She was instrumental in the opening of the Wellworths store - later renamed Wellchester - in the South Street shop and re-employed almost all of the former staff with herself as manager.
In a gloomy economic climate it was a rare good news story, attracting attention from all over the world.
Claire said: "When Woolworths went, I felt the need to keep a small piece of it alive on the high street and I was passionate about keeping a general retail store in the heart of Dorchester."
She added: "I have now decided it is time to realise a long-held ambition to actually run my own business.
"Over the last three years I have had many requests to help people but my time was fully taken up, so I am really excited now to be able to get involved.
"This is a challenging time for the high street and for retail in general but that just makes it all the more important to get everything right."
Claire said her retail support company will be able to help people in all areas of retail including start-ups.
