Snow's a No Show for Dorset - for the time being

Dorset escaped the worst of the snow that was due to hit us last night, but cold weather still caused traffic problems this morning.

Only very localised areas around Bridport and Wool saw any snow last night, and where it fell it was comparatively light. Outside of the county there was heavy snowfall so it appears we had a lucky break.

However a Met office report continues to warn of snow at the end of the week which could be heavy over high ground. Clearly though conditions at the moment are proving very hard to predict so expect this forecast to be revised for accuracy.

This morning ice casued disruptions on Dorset's roads with accidents on several major roads and delays to public transport reported.
