Have I found an arts and crafts treasure trove in Puddletown near Dorchester?

With The Dorset Scrapstore I think I may have found something that will keep the children this summer holidays happy,
flex their artistic muscles and only costs a fiver. Sound good?
The Dorset Scrapstore is a well kept secret hidden away in Puddletown
near Dorchester. It collects materials donated by local industry and sorts it
and makes it available to the community. All the materials are checked and
clean and have been saved from their destined route to landfill. For only £5 (plus
a yearly subscription) you can fill a black sack with paper, fabric, ropes,
netting, card, tubes, sticky backed plastic, amongst a thousand other things.
Some of the objects defy understanding of what they would have been manufactured
for, but if you are creative, or happen to be a child, a million things can be
made from this bizarre but wonderful array of materials.mso-spacerun:yes">
The Dorset Scrapstore is a registered charity which have a
board of trustees, two part time workers and a wonderful set of volunteers who
have loads of idea on things to make with the materials.
They also have a very reasonably priced Arts and Crafts shop
to purchase all your artistic basics such as glues, big packs of paper and
card, sequins, scissors, paints, feathers, pipe cleaners, air drying clay and
lots more.
It is a little illusive in location, but if you park in the
Puddletown Recreation Ground and you can walk through to the commercial buildings
next door and will then see the sign.
It's not just for kids, I have been known to spend a time browsing the fabrics and threads aisle. At any age if you have a good imagination you will see the potential in this fantastic resource.
