Number 35 arrived quietly where Goodfilla's used to be. I'm local enough to know all the cafe's in town and as a coffee snob and cake-aholic, there are precious few to tempt me away from my very own kitchen! Toby at No.35 does just that though... Every cake you see on the counter is fresh, the ingredients are top notch and his baking craftsmanship is second to none. So far I have enjoyed such sumptuous cakes as: chocolate & beetroot; apple & vanilla and raspberry & almond, each with a delicious mascarpone cream layer or topping and served on proper china with proper cake forks, divine! I hope he'll still be making his fresh blueberry muffins next time I visit as they look mouth-wateringly gorgeous, although the menu changes daily according to what he has at perfect ripeness to use. If you love proper coffee, Toby will advise you on what roast he has that will suit your taste and deliver the perfect cup every time. If you fancy a light lunch, his home-made bread sandwiches look marvellous, but be warned, go early, he sells out every day! In short, this cafe, with its gentle ambience, cosy rear seating room and connoisseur quality food and drink, would be equally at home in London or Seattle, but we are privileged to enjoy such delights here in the heart of Hardy country. See you there for morning coffee, but don't wait for afternoon tea; I'll have beaten you to the cake!

We are a place that showcases coffee, the way it should be. We make everything we sell fresh each morning so you can enjoy what we enjoy.
