A confusing subject to many people however even though the HIP has gone the EPC remains and is still very much a legal requirement for properties that are going to be sold or rented out. This applies to domestic as well as business properties.
A Display Energy Certificate(DEC) is required for local authority buildings and should be on display to the public.A DEC shows the energy usage of a particular building over a period of time.
The EPC is the first step towards reducing CO2 emissions from buildings and should not be construed as another peice of red tape that has to actioned in order to move a property.Buildings are responsible for 50% of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere and the EPC is a great tool designed to assist in curbing these emissions, saving energy and subsequently saving money. Our organisation,CALDUTCH LTD,is here to assist you in this process and offer advice where necessary.Gary Boyle
