Bridport and Weymouth both have operatic groups, and Dorchester for some reason doesn't . yet. could be an idea y'know.

I agree, most of Dorchester's young talent goes to WOW (Weymouth Operatic Workshop). I did when I was a teenager because there's nothing like it in Dorchester. I hear word that they are going to build a new theatre in Brewery Square. Perhaps that would be the perfect excuse...?

That would be the 400+ seat theatre & art center "The Maltings". If any builders show up (ever) that is.

I know! What's going on? I get the train every day and I haven't seen anyone working on the site or any visible progress so far. I'm pretty sure it's meant to be ready for the 2012 olympics but we shall see...

I've been told that they're going to bulid an access road this month and start construction next month.
I suspect they will be employing flying pigs to deliver the equipment required, and a team of specially trained gremlins to to the work.

Ha ha that sounds about right!! I really hope they prove us wrong though. I think this town could do with a bit of livening up sooner rather than later. Just a bit concerned about the new shops replacing the old ones but I aim to remain loyal!! (Especially to the cinema).

I may have spoken too soon ! looks like something's happening on the ol' waste land! i see a digger and some little red pegs....sounds exciting...ish.
On another front, the musical theatre in Dorchester thing may come to something. All we need is people.
