Join Compassionate Dorset for The Eden Project's 'THE BIG LUNCH' - a shared picnic in the park in aid of Compassion in World Farming.

The fundraiser is being hosted by the local supporter group for Compassion in World Farming, to raise vital money to ensure higher welfare conditions for animals farmed for food.

Everyone is encouraged to bring their own picnics to this family friendly feast.

The event will be officially opened by the Dorchester Town Mayor and Mayoress, and the charity’s Head of Public Affairs, Joyce D’Silva is making a special appearance at the event and will shed light on Compassion’s mission to end factory farming by 2050. Around 90% of farm animals are kept in barren factory farms and to help Compassion continue their work the Big Lunch aims to bring a community of farm animal lovers together with a compassionate bake sale, a raffle and funky farm animal themed designer t-shirts by Compassionate Dorset member Stu Jones on sale.

They'll be music on the bandstand all day too by Sky TV's Nick Ashron and the Durnovaria Silver Band, plus kids facepainting and more...

We're ssssssooooooo excited about our Big Lunch TOMORROW!!!! We've even checked on the weather: On Sunday, Dorchester promises to be warm and dry, with sunny spells, yay!

The perfect weekend! The Scrappage Art Exhibition in Weymouth Reclamation Yard Sat or Sun, Tolpuddle Festival Sat or Sun PLUS our Big Lunch Sun! There's even buses running between Tolpuddle Fest and Dorchester! Should be a good one! : )
