What Will Cameron’s Big Society Plans Mean For Dorchester?

There has been a lot in the press about David Cameron’s ‘Big
-
David Cameron
Society’ plans over the past few days, and the reaction has been mixed.
The plans to create a culture of ‘volunteerism’ are set out
to improve communities and bring people together. Mr Cameron said the concept
would be a "big advance for people power".
In a speech in Liverpool, the prime minister said groups
should be able to run post offices, libraries, transport services and shape
housing projects.
There are volunteering projects all over our town already
but it seems to always be the same people getting involved and the same people
paying little attention.
Is Dorchester already a community with ‘oomph’ or is
there something that these plans could do to help us improve?
Would you like to get involved with to help improve our
community? What projects would you start up?
