Latest in the moos – get it? – is a story about a stray cow
-
Cow from Wikimedia
that wandered from the farm and took a dip in an outdoor swimming pool in
Motcombe, near Shaftesbury.
It is suggested that the cow, nicknamed Daisy by her rescuers,
fell into the swimming pool on the grounds of a nearby holiday cottage. Onlookers
said she seemed quite happy there and didn’t respond well to the farmer’s
orders that playtime was over.
Fire fighters were called and the cow was sedated before
being winched from the swimming pool in a harness using the farmer’s hydraulic
lifting gear. In total it took two fire crews from Shaftesbury, two special
rescue teams from Poole and Weymouth, an animal rescue team from Poole, a vet
and the cow’s owner to carry out the rescue.
‘Daisy’ is less than one year old and not yet fully grown,
and was said to be in the swimming pool for a number of hours. However when she
was eventually sent back to the rest of the herd she was apparently just ‘a
little wobbly on her feet’.

ReportThat's all the info I got I'm afraid - maybe they are just really nice 'special' people...?

ReportThe mind boggles as to what the "special rescue teams" were - people trained specifically to get cows out of swimming pools?
