Dorchester On Google Street View

Dorchester can now be seen on Google Street View, along with more than 95 per cent of Britain’s roads which could not previously be seen.

The views were added on Thursday and feature 360-degree photograph images which show our town. I have already looked at my house and can’t see myself or anyone I know anywhere, but other people have. Have you looked at your house?

The images were captured by a Google car with a panoramic camera attached to its roof. I would guess that Dorchester’s images were captured last Spring – the daffodils are out and my old car is still in the drive. Did anyone see the van going round?

All vehicle number plates and faces were blurred for security by Google, but some are not happy about having not been asked if the car can photograph their town or given any notice about when it would happen. There are a lot of people walking around the town centre. Do you recognise anyone?

Dorchester Google Maps can be found by clicking here. You simply click on ‘street view’ to take a virtual tour around the town. If you spot anything amusing or unusual, please comment below and share it with everyone!
