Dorchester Town’s new mascot will be walking around the Christmas Cracker tonight (Wed 2nd Dec) in search of a name.
This 6 foot tall bear was found at Dorchester West Station, sitting on a suitcase with a note attached to his Dorchester Town replica shirt saying “Please look after this bear, thank you.”
It is believed that the bear, who at present has no name, came all the way to the county town from darkest Pulham.
He has been taken in by the Dorchester Town Supporters Trust, who will be with him at Wednesday’s event, as he goes in search of suggestions for a new name.
The winning suggestion will get a complimentary ticket for the family to the Dorset Derby match against Weymouth on Boxing Day and will introduce the mascot to the Magpies Faithful on the pitch at half time.
The bear will also be in Dorchester town centre on Saturday morning, giving out free childrens tickets to the afternoon’s game against Hampton and Richmond Borough FC. (Kick off 3pm)
