WHAT ARE THOSE HELICOPTERS DOING???!!!???

Ok, well after my last article nobody would blame you for thinking I have a thing about noise, but seriously did anyone hear that helicopter one night the other week?! Can someone please shed some light on why helicopters seem to circle round and round and round and then hover over houses at night? This can go on for up to 30 minutes at a time. Surely there can't be that many criminals on the run that the police helicopters have to wake up the residents of Dorchester on their night time weekly chase?? Don't think the daytime is an exception either, I've heard them circling at all manner of the day and night. What are they doing????????????!!!!

they have the Thermal Imaging cams as well so they can spot crims hiding in bushes or in the dark. I think they like to indulge in a spot of TI camera voyeurism as well. It brightens up an otherwise dull job!

I think they are chasing a criminal.

They circle when the criminal is hiding or going slowly. They all have the night vision cameras now so you don't see the big lights.

When my car was broken into a few months back it took minutes before the helicopter appeared and did its night time ballet.

I don't know if thats the problem you have, but I hope that helps a little

Many thanks for your comment again ninnykay! You seem to be the only person on here who replies to anything! I meant that the helicopters circle from time to time (not every night) and wondered why they do it. When it does happen, its very annoying!

I've been listening out but can't hear anything. I think perhaps I just sleep like a log. They are probably just showing off!
