Trust On The Club Board

Following talks with Shaun Hearn (Chairman of Dorchester Town FC) over the last month, Dorchester Town Supporters Trust are delighted to announce that, as of last night (Wednesday 25th November), a Trust representative has been co-opted on to the Dorchester Town Football Club board of directors.

The Trust board has nominated the Trust’s Treasurer Neal Butterworth to take up the position in the interim, but in line with our democratic principles, this position in the future will be subject to elections, as are seats on the Trust’s board.

This marks the second major milestone the Trust has achieved since our launch in the summer, having already acquired one thousand pounds worth of shares in the Football Club, courtesy of Eddie Belt and I’m confident that I can speak on behalf of all the Trust’s board members when I say it shows quite how far we have come in such a short amount of time.

It has taken other Trust’s years to be in this position, so to achieve it within 6 months of our launch is testament to our progress, of which we couldn’t have achieved without the membership.
