I frequently visit The King & Thai for lunch and dinner. A warm welcome always awaits and whether I am dining with my children or more elegant company(!) we can be assured of finding something on the menu for everyone. The £10 three course lunch is amazingly good value and the set meals on the evening menu are varied and exquisite. The house wines are most palatable and well chosen to compliment the Thai flavour palate. Although the menu itself doesn't change much, the food actually does, as they source so much produce locally that it naturally follows what is at the height of season. I'm a serious foodie and only buy the best ingredients to use at home, so eating out can be a bit of a compromise; not so here, the food is perfect. If you like or don't like spices they will adjust the dishes to suit your taste as absolutely everything is made from scratch with no nasty additives. Presentation, service, ambiance and decoration are also the very best, right down to the immaculate loos - always a sign of a good restaurant! If you haven't been before, pop in for lunch, the meals are smaller and offer a delightful introduction to this top notch restaurant.
