Dorchester

Town Supporters Trust held a successful launch night on Saturday

evening, raising over £300 and adding numerous members to the ever

growing membership list.

Over 80 Magpies fans turned up to evening event to watch local rock band Restless take to the stage to play a two hour set.

A

raffle and auction hosted by Town Crier Alistair Chisholm raised over

£300 for the Trust, which included a Dorchester Town season ticket which eventually went for over £80, following an intense,

Piddle Ale fuelled, three-way bid.

Trust

Chairman John Greenslade hailed the night a success: “Saturday was a

fantastic night, and a lovely way to kick start the Supporters Trust.

The event was well attended, had a great atmosphere, and raised a

staggering amount of money for the Trust. “

“I

would like to thank all those who came along, including  James Mathie

from Supporters Direct, who gave a wonderful speech and Nathan and

Steve from the Terras Trust, who’s advice has been invaluable over the

last year.

“We

gained a significant number of new members on the night, all of whom

spoke highly about what we are trying to achieve, and spoke

passionately about wanting to take an active role in the Trust. That

was probably the most pleasing aspect of the night.

“The

last year has been hard work, but it is beginning to pay dividends, and

I believe we have a very bright future. Having only formally launched

at the weekend, we have over 100 members already, including many from

the younger generations who want to get involved in their football

club.”

Tickets

for the Trust's upcoming Golf Day at Wolfedale on Sunday 16th August

are selling quickly, and only a handful of places now remain. To book

your place, contact Mark Stone at Mark@magpiestrust.co.uk, or 07929 982 597

I'll support anything endorsed by Alistair Chisholm. What a legend. Sounds like a good night, well done.
