Snow joke as services across Dorchester area are affected by bad weather

With accidents in Dorchester’s high street this morning as people struggled to get to work, police were advising that home was the safest place to be in what the local paper reports as Dorset’s heaviest snowfall in 17 years.
We’re not sure where that figure comes from – the county has had its fair share of snow in the past couple of years – but the bad weather has affected services across Dorset.
Most of the schools in the county have been closed, including these in the Dorchester area:
Broadmayne First School
Damers First School
Cerne Abbas CE VC First School
Cheselbourne Village School
Dorchester Learning Centre
Dorchester Middle School
Frome Valley CE VA First School
Manor Park CE VC First School
Puddletown CE First School
Sticklands CE Primary School
St. Mary's CE First School
St. Mary's CE Middle School
St. Osmunds CE VA Middle School
Thomas Hardye School
Thorner's C of E School
Winterbourne Valley CE First School
